THIS IS FELIX....a wonderful, 15 lb, b/w, 8 yr old Lhasa Tzu, who came to us from the Lancaster shelter 7 years ago....yep, 7 years ago. We thought we placed him in his forever, ever after home, but we got a call from his guardian who had a short sale on her home and decided she couldn't take him with her. I'm sure this wouldn't have happened if Felix was a human child. Felix (who she named "Karma") was always a wonderful guy and his only issues are that he is shy of big dogs (until he gets to know them) and fireworks! He can be an escape artist, which is how we probably got him in the first place, but if he gets enough attention, he won't want to leave! He's OK with some other dogs, and still loves to play, so if he is the only dog, his guardian will need to be around a lot. He would be fine in a senior home, as long as he is exercised and loved. He will bark a bit if he is left alone without a human or canine companion! His former guardian says he can be very protective on walks...and that he isn't fantastic with kids -- but he loved her grandson. He would be good in a mature home that is looking for a lover and one with energy. One would never guess he is 8 years old! He loves his chewies and plays with toys, gives lots of kisses and is a great guy. Like these breeds, he has his occasional ear and eye infections, but overall, his health is great....so we've been told! Felix has been trained to use a doggie door and is potty trained -- but no guarantees!! He knows the sit command and wants to please. Does this sound like a dog you could love for the rest of his life?? That's what he needs.....
